Can anyone explain this to me?

Welcome to the wonderful world of applepie. I'm in Chester studying Christian youth work and applied theology. From Gorleston(not yarmouth!) which happily is not Southern or Northern, so no arguments there! Currently I spend my time working on assignments, working on placement, forgetting the laundry, forgetting to eat, being 'pastored' by an unconventional anglican, and struggling with a small obsession with modelling clay.

quote from Garcia's blog:

lts weird, where as normally l wouldn't be effected by people with flags, l was captivated by its beauty.
Also, this older woman was going around waving her flag over people & it struck me she was praying for people.and it was like she was asking God's presence to fall on people.
Personally I can't think of anything more superphelous to worship.
I was about to say "Don't ask Ben!", but he got here first. ;-)
Garcia's story sounds cool. Never come across it myself.
Pay a visit to the Holy Trinity Brompton website and download a talk by Tim Hughes called 'Worship: A passionate response', I think it helps to understand part of the idea behind the flag waving rather than the actual activity, and it's a funny talk!
people worship God in all different ways.
Flag waving ain't for me personally but some people find it helpful. The thing with flags that annoys me in my church is that we only ever seem to get them out on Easter Sunday. Why do we only get them out on Easter Sunday and no other Sunday!?!?
